Dana White vs. Judge Boulware, MGM, and The World
The UFC's talking head is spewing a lot of venom lately. Why?
While we’ve established that UFC CEO Dana White doesn’t actually run the UFC on a day-to-day basis, he does remains the face of the promotion. When Dana starts running his mouth about something, you can rest assured that he’s run it past his actual UFC bosses.
And Dana’s been on fire over the last few days.
Skipping the UFC’s Abu Dhabi card this weekend left him with plenty of time to tear into the judge presiding over the UFC’s anti-trust class action suit; and the UFC’s Las Vegas arena partner, MGM.
Let’s start with his comments about Judge Boulware.
Dana guested on Kevin Iole’s podcast where he’s got free reign to spew whatever he wants because Kevin knows where his bread is buttered and where his basset hounds’ kibble comes from.
Dana White: it's getting to a point now where this feels personal. You know, I went to high school with this guy, with Judge Boulware. Me and (former UFC co-owner) Lorenzo (Fertitta) went to high school with him. I don't know what the hell me or Lorenzo did to him in high school, but this seems very very personal.
Kevin Iole: Iole: You didn't beat him up in high school though or you didn't bully (him) did you?
Dana: I don't think so. I mean, I I don't think I did anything to this guy. I don't know what the hell happened, but there's there's no doubt in my mind that this feels absolutely personal. Whatever it is with this guy we'll let the lawyers deal with it and it is what it is.
It’s interesting that Dana is bringing this up a full decade after Judge Boulware presided over hearing the case.
Why are we hearing this line of attack now from Team UFC after nearly a decade of court proceedings?
