UFC Abu Dhabi: Ankalaev vs. Guskov picks and predictions
See who we think will win this weekend at the Etihad Arena.
The UFC is back in the Gulf this week, scooping up a fat site fee from some of their favourite patrons. This card is designed to appease the paymasters with lots of fighters from this neck of the woods (and many of them as the favourites).
The main event is Magomed Ankalaev vs. Bogdan Guskov. Guskov comes in on a few weeks notice to replace Khalil Rountree Jr. Anakalev will hope that big win will get him a title shot, but there’s no promises in this game.
The co-main event is Steve Erceg vs. Ramazan Temirov. There’s also Islam Dulatov vs. Wellington Turman, Damian Rzepecki vs. Magomed Zaynukov, Rizvan Kuniev vs. Tyrell Fortune and Ismael Bonfim vs. Axel Sola.
The prelims are headlined by Valter Walker vs. Thomas Petersen. Can Walker get his fifth heel hook in a row?
Last week, as a whole, we did pretty good. Four of us went 11-5 and we all hit our lock picks. I only went 8-8, though. That has cost me my spot atop the leaderboard. Miguel and I are tied on points, but fight pick percentage is the tiebreaker and he’s got me well beat there.
