UFC Houston: Sean Strickland vs. Anthony Hernandez picks and predictions
See who we think will win in the Toyota Center this weekend.
The UFC rolls into Texas this week with their latest Fight Night product. This one, which is neither a PLE nor an APEX show, is headlined by Sean Strickland and Anthony Hernandez.
Strickland has done his best to be as odious as possible leading up to this one, probably just to prove that he can do that without any punishment. If he wins this he might be able to get himself back in the title mix at middleweight. He’s a sizeable underdog against the streaking ‘Fluffy’, though.
The co-main event is Geoff Neal vs. Uros Medic in a bout designed to create a viral KO moment. The main card also has Ante Delija vs. Serghei Spivac, Dan Ige vs. Melquizael Costa and Jacobe Smith vs. Josiash Harrell.
The prelims have Ramiz Brahimaj vs. Punahele Soriano (which is better than everything but the main event on the main card). There are also some interesting prospects on that portion of the card, including Alden Coria, Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani and Yadier del Valle.
We’ve looked over these match-ups and picked our winners. Those are below (just the picks — no commentary; we save that for the PLEs).
Last week we had a good showing with everyone getting at least a 12-5 record. Miguel, Blaine and I led the way, going 14-3. That keeps Miguel at the top of our leaderboard. Poor Kristen drops to the bottom (despite being 30-16), since she made Jailton Almeida her lock pick last week. She’s the first, and only, member of the crew to miss one of those.
Scroll down to see who we’ve all picked as our locks this week.
