The UFC is in the far east instead of the middle east this weekend, with UFC Shanghai going down in the early morning hours for us here in North America. Those on east coast time can catch the prelims beginning at 3 a.m. and the main card rolling in at 6 a.m.

It’s early, but you might want to wake up for this one. There’s a lot of talent on this card and few fighters who don’t know how to have boring fights. The main event is the Mountain Tiger Zhang Mingyang looking to stay perfect in the UFC against Johnny Walker, who has been KO’d in his last two fights.

The co-main event is a fascinating featherweight match-up between Brian Ortega and Aljamain Sterling. The main card also has Sergei Pavolvich vs. Waldo Cortes-Acosta. Both those fights could have title implications, albeit not immediate ones.

Charles Johnson vs. Lone’er Kavanagh could bring us fire on the prelims. There’s also appearances from Rongzhu, Yizha and Xiao Long. Those guys are known to throw down. And there’s Michel Pereira, too.

We’ve looked over this fights and added our picks. We didn’t do great at UFC 319, so this will have to be a bounce back event for us. The best performer at last week’s upset laden card was Nate, who went 7-5. He’s 219-99 on the year! I remain in top spot, but not by much. I missed my lock pick last week, when Edson Barboza lost to Drakkar Klose. I’m feeling good about this week’s pick, though… scroll down to see it (and everyone elses).

Johnny Walker (+280) vs. Zhang Mingyang (-355)

Miguel Class: There’s no reason to be fully on the Zhang train yet as he’s proved little in his 4-fight knockout streak other than that he hits hard and can take a punch well.
