Collision. By Chris Rini

The UFC returns to the APEX this weekend with a card very fitting for the venue. That being said, it could be a lot worse. We do have some relatively well known names on the card, with former title challenger Jared Cannonier in the main event. He’s meeting the exciting ‘Robo Cop’ Gregory Rodrigues. And we’ve got Calvin Kattar in the co-main, attempting to halt the charge of Youssef Zalal. Other names you know include Angela Hill, Jared Gordon, Khaos Williams, maybe Rodolfo Vieira… ?

It’s enough to fill air time on ESPN+ anyways. And I’m sure the UFC have the same opinion that my kid’s preschool teachers have at lunch time, “you get what you get and you don’t get upset.”

We don’t care about the quality of the card around here, though. I may knock them, but we’re still gonna give you some juicy picks for all the fights. Scroll down to see who we are siding with this time around. We’ve also got our selections for the over/under on the main card fights.

If you’re making wagers this weekend, please do so responsibly.

Jared Cannonier (+190) vs. Gregory Rodrigues (-235)

Miguel Class: This is really hard to pick because Cannonier, while not actually looking too bad in his two most recent losses, is almost 41 years old. To add on top of that, Rodrigues is quite hittable and vulnerable. But Cannonier has always fought in bursts and his ability to pull the trigger seems to diminish with each fight. He also does his best work when he’s allowed to put steady pressure on his opponent and Rodrigues won’t let him do that forever.
