UFC Vegas 108: Taira vs. Park picks and predictions
See who we think will win at the APEX this weekend.
The UFC returns to the APEX this weekend. And it’s been a while.
The card they are bringing with them may look pretty shoddy at first glance, but there are some great fights here and some pretty exciting prospects. The main event isn’t what was planned, with Amir Albazi falling out of his date with Tatsuro Taira. However, Hyun Sung Park is a very exciting replacement and Taira vs. Park is very high level MMA.
The co-main is Mateusz Rebecki vs. Chris Duncan. That could be entertaining, too. Rebecki is coming off a Fight of the Year candidate after all. This card also has Esteban Ribovics vs. Elves Brener — that should be an all action affair. Ribovics had a Fight of the Year candidate last year, too.
Other hot prospects on this card include Rinya Nakamura, Kevin Vallejos and Austin Bashi. I think this is going to be fun.
We’ve done our best to pick winners from the card. Our track record this year is stellar, but last week’s upset laden card tripped us up a bit. Blaine did the best going 12-6, while myself, Kristen, Miguel and Steph managed 11-7. Poor old Nate went 5-7, which I think is his first losing record on the year (he still leads us with winning percentage on picking fights, though).
I remain in the lead because, even though I missed my lock pick, so did everyone else but Steph. Last week I went with Carlos Leal and was totally shocked to see him get melted by the 41 years-young Muslim Salikhov.
I don’t think I’ll get surprised on my lock pick this time around, though. Scroll down to see who I, and everyone else, is picking.

Leader board
Tatsuro Taira (-370) vs. Hyun Sung Park (+280)
Miguel Class: This is a big step up for Park and on really short notice too. Park was scheduled to fight Steve Erceg on next week’s card, but that’s a big change in his opponent’s style and a week less than he was expecting for his weight cut…
