Will we get a finish in the main event this Saturday? Art by Chris Rini.

This weekend the UFC APEX plays host to what might be the worst UFC card ever. Seriously. The only thing making me doubt that statement is how piss poor so many of the APEX cards have been over the past 24 months. Even so, this one, headlined by a fight that the matchmakers probably didn’t realize was a rematch, stands above (or below) all those other events. The event was bad when it was drawn up, but thanks to a flurry of cancellations this thing is downright awful.

Marcin Tybura vs. Serghei Spivac 2 is the main event. Five rounds of heavyweight ‘action’… great. The co-main is Damon Jackson vs. Chepe Marsical, which should be fun. The next fight after that features two guys with one combined UFC appearance. That fight is Danny Barlow versus Nikolay Veretennikov, who is making his UFC debut at the ripe old age of 34.

Even if you’re a diehard UFC fan, this Saturday might be a good one to skip and give the missus the date night she’s likely craving. If you’re excited for this card then I envy how easy you are to please. If you’re watching because you’re hoping to make a little cash, well… we’ve got you covered.

We’ve gone over the bouts and decided who we think will win. If you’re making wagers off that info, good luck! But also, please bet responsibily.

Check out those pics below.

Marcin Tybura (+145) vs. Serghei Spivac (-175)

Dayne: The sequel no one wanted, asked for, or even considered. I guess both wanted to fight – it is how they make a living after all – and when they couldn’t get anyone else to sign the dotted line, they just agreed to do the damn thing all over again. To be fair, they are different fighters than when they fought the first time – especially Spivac – but making it a main event? While I respect them both, it’s headliners like this that tend to hold back the UFC product.
