“The people never give up their liberties but under some delusion.”
— Edmund Burke
Behind the rebrand, the crossover buzz, and the WWE main roster cameos, there is another layer to the partnership between TNA Wrestling and WWE.
According to sources close to both parties, Anthem Sports & Entertainment, led by Len Asper, has been quietly positioning TNA Wrestling for a potential joint venture acquisition by WWE. The working relationship is real. The ambition is bigger. And the leverage, at least for now, is entirely one-sided.
The WWE Clause Nobody Talks About
Buried within the WWE–TNA agreement is a 60-day termination clause. On the surface, it looks like standard legal language. But for WWE, it is a sword at their hip. If the deal loses value or TNA becomes a burden, WWE can walk away without consequence. No buyout. No penalty. Just a quiet exit.
This clause is not a trigger for the acquisition. It is a reminder of the imbalance. WWE holds the power. Anthem holds the hope. And in the current state of play, hope does not pay the bills.
